What's the actual arrival window across the GTA?

30–45 minutes is the honest average, Etobicoke to Stouffville. The dispatcher pulls up the live map, finds the closest van, and gives you a name and an ETA in writing. If we can't make the window we tell you on the first call — never an hour later.

Are you really 24/7 or is that marketing?

Accepted Answer

Dispatch is live 24/7. Standard service is 8 AM – 8 PM. After-hours emergencies (door stuck open, security risk, commercial down-door) get dispatched on request with the price confirmed before the truck leaves the shop.

Do you work weekends and holidays?

Accepted Answer

Yes — same dispatcher, same techs, same trucks Saturday and Sunday. Statutory holidays are dispatched as emergencies; the dispatcher tells you the rate before anything moves.

Question 4

What does the visit actually cost before anything is repaired?

Accepted Answer

$29. That covers the trip, the 10–15 minute diagnosis, the balance test, the spring math and the written quote. Whatever the fix costs is read out loud on the driveway before a single tool comes out of the van.

Why won't you quote a repair price over the phone?

Accepted Answer

Because the same symptom can be a simple adjustment, a worn hardware issue, or a full balance problem depending on what we find — and we won't quote you a number we can't keep when the truck arrives. The dispatcher explains what is likely; the firm repair quote is on the driveway.

How do I pay?

Accepted Answer

Debit, e-Transfer, cash, or credit on request. Itemized invoice emailed before the truck leaves — formatted for insurance or property-management reimbursement when you need that.

One torsion spring snapped. Do I really need to replace both?

Accepted Answer

Yes, and we say it up front instead of upselling later. Both springs were wound the same day, lift the same weight, and survive the same cycles — about 10,000 for a builder-grade pair, roughly 7 years. When one snaps the other is on the same clock. Replacing both keeps you off our schedule for the next 6–10 years.

The opener hums but the door won't budge. New motor?

Almost never. A humming motor with a stuck door is physics talking — the spring snapped and the opener is trying to lift 180 lb of steel by itself. We diagnose the system before we sell you a motor.

Question 9

My door makes a loud grinding noise. Serious?

Accepted Answer

Usually yes. Grinding points to flattened nylon rollers, dry centre bearings, loose hardware or a spring on the way out. Catch it early — it's a roller swap. Ignore it and it's a snapped spring or a chewed track inside a couple of months.

What brands do you work on?

Accepted Answer

Doors: Clopay, Garaga, Steel-Craft, Richards-Wilcox, Wayne Dalton, plus most older builder-spec doors. Openers: LiftMaster, Chamberlain, Genie, Craftsman, Marantec and Linear — gear kits, logic boards, sensors and remotes on the truck.

How long does a new installation take?

Single-car install with new tracks and hardware: 3–4 hours. Double-car: 4–6 hours. That covers removing and hauling the old door, mounting new tracks, sizing the torsion spring to the new weight, weather-stripping all four sides, and programming the opener.

Do you handle warehouse and loading-dock doors?

Yes. Sectional steel, rolling shutter, and high-lift doors — commercial torsion in 1¾", 2" and 2¼" wire, jackshaft opener parts (LiftMaster LJ8950W, LJ8900W) and 240V wiring. Down-door commercial calls go to the front of the queue.

Yes. Commercial liability insurance plus WSIB coverage on every tech. Certificate emailed to property managers, condo boards or builders on request — usually within the hour.
